Position: Vice President of Client Service and Research Operations
Location: New York, NY or El Dorado Hills, CA
Travel: Willing to spend at least 1wk/month in the opposite location
Marketing Evolution is searching for an entrepreneurial candidate experienced in consultative marketing research who is eager to lead the scaling of a business. The Vice President of Client Services is a candidate who must know the marketing research business in depth and be ready for the day to day challenges it takes to deliver results to Fortune 500 clients as well as lead the business through a time of growth. The VP Client Services will manage a team of Director & Research Managers responsible for the day to day execution and management of Marketing Evolution’s core product, ROMO. The VP of Client Service will be the key senior leader that focuses on the internal operations and procedures to deliver consistent quality and high value insights to clients. In addition, in some instances, the VP of Client Services and Research Operations will be the senior level consultant on some of Marketing Evolution’s core clients. This person should be comfortable with technology based solutions for process improvement and client deliverables.
The candidate must possess strong leadership and communications skills in addition to being able to work effectively across all layers of management in the organizational structure. The organization is full of bright and enthusiastic young minds ready to be directed towards continued growth and success. Additionally, the successful candidate needs to be someone that can manage team capacity & workflow towards improved process and efficiency. The ability to positively and productively manage staff is essential. This person will function as a part of the executive management board.
Essential Functions (Key Results Areas):
- BUSINESS PROCESS: Ability to understand, analyze and adjust workflow and business process to continuously improve quality, efficiency and while boosting value to the client.
- CLIENT SERVICE: Ability to take on key high level client relationships and deliver answers to some of the toughest marketing questions. Ability to manage and develop a team of directors towards superior client service and process management. As the business grows this team will be continually staffed with the best and brightest in the research business.
- ANALYTICS: Understand and embrace new ways of thinking about data & information. Partner with the VP of Analytics & Technology to execute the design of new research methodologies and lead the client service team implementation process around these new solutions. Possess some comfort with survey based data, scanner based data, regression modeling & internet based data streams.
- BUSINESS SUCCESS: Manage the profitability of the client service team by monitoring capacity. Monitor the competitive landscape and evaluate industry trends. Provide leadership around business process development and reengineering. Promote the company as a leader in marketing ROI management and performance modeling.
Training/Experience/Skills Required:
-
7-10 years of experience in market research and analysis required.
- Strong experience overseeing a research/analysis team of up to 15 employees.
- Detail oriented, process thinker that can manage and refine the research system of people, process and technology to the greatest client and business benefit.
- Must have proven leadership and management skills.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation skills, strong written/oral communication skills are required.
- Extensive consumer insight experience.
- Strong experience working with IT, database issues, and modeling.
- Project management, cost management and reengineering experience.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
