Position: VP of Analytics & Product Development
Location: New York, NY or El Dorado Hills, CA
Travel: Willing to travel at least once per month to the opposite location

Marketing Evolution is seeking an experienced modeling professional eager to lead and grow our superior analytics department. We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record leading the development of marketing mix models, with eagerness to adventure into cutting edge innovative techniques. The ideal candidate must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, stellar people management skills, and proven project management skills. "Hands on" ability to perform in-depth analysis is required. Our ideal candidate must enjoy working with different internal groups, specifically the client service and technology teams. The ability to positively and productively manage a team is essential. This role will function as a part of the senior management team.

Essential Functions (Key Results Areas):

  • IMPROVE EXISTING PRODUCT & PROCESS: Working with our existing, highly talented, staff you must be able to come up to speed quickly on Marketing Evolution’s current products. You must have the ability to identify ways for the team to improve current processes. Our ideal candidate keeps the end goal in mind at all times; delivering marketing insights to our Fortune 500 clients. You believe that we are successful when are clients are successful.
  • NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: Develop a practice in marketing mix modeling including staffing & hardware/software investments to meet set goals. Marketing Evolution is poised to grow the set of its current capabilities. The current management team has identified specific complementary products and we are looking for a candidate to drive execution and development. The ideal candidate has the ability to plan the vision and future of these products and staff/train the team to execute on this vision. Bringing your innovative ideas for development to the table is essential.
  • MANAGE & DEVELOP ANALYTICS TEAM: Responsible for overall team management and leadership. Responsible for increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the Analytic and Data Frameworks Development teams. Responsible for ongoing evaluation and improvement of the hardware/software used by the teams to deliver the products.
  • CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION: Work directly with the VP of Client Service, Chief Technology Officer, CEO & Management team to identify product offerings that are scalable for the success of the business. Implement these services working across teams to deliver an unprecedented product set. Working with the management team, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.

Training/Experience/Skills Required:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in statistics or related fields (such as mathematics or econometrics). A Masters degree is highly desirable.
  • Must have 7-10+ years experience in marketing mix modeling.
  • Experience in developing marketing mix models & integration into software for easy use as simulation tools.
  • Expert with many different types of data streams including but not limited to: Primary survey data, Nielsen & IRI scanner data, clients internal sales data & forcasting tools, media TPR/GRP data, Online activity (DoubleClick & Atlas data streams).
  • Experience in SAS programming and software tools: SAS macros, SAS/STAT, SAS/GRAPH, SAS forecasting.
  • Solid background in processing large and complex databases (e.g., longitudinal data, scanner data).
  • Solid background in data modeling, multivariate analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis, CHAID, etc.
  • Strong understanding of principles of data quality analysis, research design, survey methodology, regression-based modeling, and sampling techniques.
  • Formal training in regression analysis, probability theory, experimental design, optimization.
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and work efficiently with tight schedules.
